CULTIC 28

The Dark Lord stirs deep beneath the cracked crust of the over-earth through the sinuous tunnels and chasms that make up the great earthly guts of the under-earth. 

He wrenches himself from the inky blackness of his dark pit; a long, eviscerated arm, bony and wet, extends as he stabs a digit in the direction of his chosen Crypt. 

Each time he awakens, he chooses the vilest cult to host a great competition in which the Dark Lord acts as their Magus, willing them to embody him in blood, flesh, and soul.

The other unluckier cultic groups congregate at the chosen Crypt; theirs deemed unworthy as they participate in the wicked games of magical and ritualistic combat.

Throngs of creatures scurry and clamber from the tunnels, peering down into the Crypt as they jeer and screech, the horde hungry for bloodsport and vicious tactics of battle.

The stars align, and the blood boils as the Dark Lord declares Cultic 28 is upon this wretched earth.

Cultic 28 is a miniature agnostic, grid-based skirmish wargame where players take on the role of a Magus leading an evil cult. Each cult consists of three magic-wielding cultists, a powerful Magus, and two lesser powerful Brethren, and eventually, when the cult accumulates enough Power, the conjured manifestation of the God they worship.

Cultic 28 prides itself on its unique Power Distribution and Accumulation mechanic and Boon system, unlocking more Boons the more Power the cult accumulates and losing them when that Power decreases unless the cult's conjured manifestation of the God they worship is still active in the Crypt.

Cultists spend and manipulate Power to move, cast magic spells, and conjure their God to lay waste to their opponent, their ultimate goal. Moving and casting spells are actions that cost Distributed Power to perform. Conjuring a cult’s God relies on the collection of Accumulated Power.
